The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) is conducting a Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) Disparity Study. The Study will examine:
- The utilization and availability of DBE
- Race- and gender-based barriers to full and fair opportunities to compete for WSDOT’s prime contracts and subcontracts
- The experiences of all types of firms with WSDOT’s DBE program and overall contracting policies
WSDOT will be hosting a series of Study informational meetings to ensure opportunity for interested people across the state to participate in the Study. These meetings will:
- Provide an introduction to the Study team
- Explain the legal and regulatory standards applicable to studies and the DBE program
- Describe the Study process and timeline for completion
- Include information on how to provide further input
