Artist Roster 2016 Request for Qualifications
Deadline: 12:00 a.m. (midnight, Pacific Standard Time), Friday, March 25th
Overview: Sound Transit is committed to integrating art and artist thinking into the design and construction of transit facilities and public spaces by involving artists in the station design process. As partners in the development of over 40 miles of new light rail connections, the Sound Transit Art Program (STart) has identified many opportunities for artwork to enrich our system for our patrons and the communities surrounding our stations.
To select artists for many of these opportunities, we are building a roster based on a Request for Qualifications (RFQ). The kinds of opportunities we have are related to the kinds of facilities we build – simple, clean structures made from concrete, steel and glass. Artists selected for the roster will remain eligible for STart projects for three years. Please note that inclusion in the roster does not guarantee a project.
Eligibility: Professional artists living and working in the U.S. are eligible to apply for this opportunity. Sound Transit staff, selection panel members, project personnel, and immediate family members of all of the above are not eligible to apply.
STart values the contributions of artists from diverse backgrounds and with many practices. We are committed to a policy of providing fair and representative employment and business opportunities for minorities and women in the procurement of non-professional and professional services, consistent with Sound Transit’s policies, procedures and guiding principles for employment and contracting.
NOTE: If you were selected for a past Sound Transit artist roster, you will need to reapply for consideration for the 2016 artist roster.

Review Process: Artist applications to this RFQ will be reviewed by a panel of professional artists, arts administrators and representatives of the communities that Sound Transit serves. This panel will review all submitted material and recommend which applicants to include in the 2016 Artist Roster. All applicants will be notified of their status after this review process.
