Scope of work | |
The University of Washington (UW) is soliciting Statements of Qualifications (SOQ) from qualified firms or joint ventures to provide design-build services for the design and construction of the Schmitz and Mary Gates Hall: Student Administrative Services and Information School (iSchool) Centralization/Relocation Project. This project will enhance student services in Mary Gates Hall by relocating some service units from Schmitz Hall to iSchool-vacated space. Specific areas of Roosevelt Commons and Condon Hall may also be used to achieve the over-arching goal of enhancement of service through centralization. Further, any administration units that remain in Schmitz Hall after centralization can be relocated within Schmitz Hall to achieve the primary objective with minimal construction taking place. In addition, the project will design and construct a space for the iSchool academic unit, currently spread across Mary Gates Hall, Bloedel Hall and Roosevelt Commons into a consolidated, contiguous campus presence within Schmitz Hall, comprising at least 41,000 assignable square feet of space. The relocation of the iSchool to Schmitz Hall should satisfy the iSchool’s need for expanding and connecting research, teaching, learning, student and administration space and supporting collaborative engagement. | |
