Description:
This design-build project will repair extensive sections of the existing saltwater system by removal and replacement of a new saltwater distribution system, including piping, supports, brackets, anchors, thrust blocks and seismic bracing; and the cathodic protection system. The work under this contract requires special attention to the scheduling and conduct of the work in connection with existing operations in the Dry Docks, Piers, roads, railroads, and other utility services within the high security Controlled Industrial area (CIA).
Incidental work activities to support the utility line replacement include; In-water work involving barges, cranes, crane operators and divers; site preparation and restoration including temporary fencing, paving and traffic controls; and debris disposal. The removal of some existing items will require environmental permitting. There will be hazardous material abatement and disposal including identification, containment, removal and handling of asbestos containing materials (ACM) debris along with lead paint, heavy metals and remaining contaminated soils from excavations.
Submitted quotations are valid for a minimum of 150 days.

The size standard for the prime contract is: $36.5 Million
