Engineering for Fish Counter/Camera Project

The Nisqually Natural Resources Department on behalf of the Nisqually Indian Tribe is issuing a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for interested Engineers or Engineering Firms with experience in Fisheries projects to submit proposals for the fish Counter/Camera system project. This project is to engineer and design the picket system to channel returning adult Salmon into customer purchased Vaki Riverwatcher fish counter/camera system to be installed within the existing vertical slot fish ladder steps of Centralia City Lights diversion Dam located outside of Yelm WA. The design will allow for safe installation and removal of system, allow for minimizing fish delay issues and have fish trapping options for the future. Fish ladder blueprints are available upon request emailing Bill St. Jean @ stjean.william@nisqually-nsn.gov

Statement of Qualifications received after the above-cited time will be considered late and are not acceptable unless waived by the Tribes Financial Services Contract Manager

NATIVE AMERICAN PREFERENCE
The owner intends to make available any and all opportunities for employment and training for Nisqually Tribal Members, their immediate families, and all other Native Americans. Therefore, the Tribal Employment Rights Ordinance (TERO) is in effect for this project. This includes but is not limited to:

  • Native American preference in employment. We have set a goal for each project to employ 35% TERO Referrals.
  • Native American preference in contracting.
  • 1.75% Employment Rights tax on projects $20,000 and over

It is the responsibility of the contractor to contact the TERO office for details.
