P-8A Hangar and Training Facilities P-251, Naval Air Station Whidbey Island, Oak Harbor, WA

Quotes/Proposals Due:    February 24, 2014 by 10:00 am Pacific Time

Description:  DESIGN / BUILD to construct a 99,093 SF two-story, low-rise, P-8A Training Facility that includes: high-bay space for Flight Trainers and Weapons Tactics Trainers The building most likely will be Type “2B” construction and the structural frame will be either structural steel or concrete frame supported on a precast pile foundation system. The facility also includes support equipment and bridge cranes over the trainers. To make room for the new training facility demo of an existing 1 story (+/- 30,000 sf) Applied Instruction Building (Bldg #126) will need to take place before construction of the new training Facility. Demolition is anticipated to include removal of existing asphalt pavement and existing underground utility services to Bldg 126 including (but not limited to) storm water, domestic water, fire water, sanitary sewer, steam and electrical. Relocation of existing utilities may be required to support the new trainer facility and maintain existing services to surrounding facilities. Asbestos removal will be required. Before any work can begin, renovation of 3,550 sf of an adjacent building needs to occur for relocation of a P-3C Flight Simulator.
