The U.S. Department of Transportation Bonding Education Program (BEP) works in partnership with Surety & Fidelity Association of America (SFAA) to help small businesses become bond-ready. The BEP classes include one-on-one sessions with experts such as local surety bonding producers, CPAs, bookkeepers and bankers to help assemble the materials necessary for a complete bond application. This program is tailored to businesses competing for transportation-related projects. The target audience includes small and emerging contractors in the transportation industry. However, the program is open to all contractors looking to increase their business capacity and become more efficient.
Program Eligibility Criteria:
Applicants must be the primary owner(s), key manager(s), or administrator(s) of a business,
Have one of the following certifications/designations:
o Small Businesses
o DBE (Disadvantaged Business Enterprises)
o HubZone
o Service Disabled Veteran Owned Business
o Veteran Owned Business
o Women Owned Business
o 8(a) Certified Firm
o King Co. SCS Certified
