Scope of Work
The artist will work with project design consultants, SDOT, community representatives and the Office of Arts & Culture to develop permanent public art and design elements for the Madison Bus Rapid Transit project. The project will improve overall mobility in a dense and rapidly developing corridor that spans diverse neighborhood districts from Center City to First Hill, Capitol Hill, the Central District, and east of the area to the Madison Valley and Madison Park.

Working closely with the SDOT design team and consultants, the commissioned artist will develop artwork for one or two designated sites:

• A green space at 14th Avenue, Pike Street & Madison Street
The site at 14th Avenue and Madison Street will convert a portion of public street pavement to pervious green space. The space may include use as a green stormwater biofiltration area

• A curb bulb at Union Street, 12th Avenue & Madison Street

Specific instructions: bid closing, mandatory meeting, bonding, insurance…

  • Letter of interest (not to exceed 2,000 characters). Please provide a statement describing your interest in this project, addressing how you are qualified, as well as your interest in transportation, urban planning, and community engagement
  • Résumé
  • Three references
  • Up to 16 images. Where possible, submit examples of projects completed in the streetscape
    Image Identification List (not to exceed 500 characters for each image). Do not omit the Image Identification List or your application will be incomplete.
