Services / Supplies Needed
The Phase 2 CSO Project is part of the City’s approved CSO Reduction program. The goal is to reduce combined sewer overflows (CSOs) into Port Angeles Harbor according to the terms of Agreed Order 3853 from the Washington State Department of Ecology (Ecology).Elements of work for the Phase 2 CSO Project include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Demolition or removal of various existing features at the pump station site and the existing Pump Station 4 across Marine Drive from the project site.
  • Restoration of existing pump station site after demolition.
  • Construction of a new pump station building, above and below grade, for housing various mechanical, process and electrical equipment and piping systems.
  • Construction of associated site screening wall and fence.
  • Supply and installation of pumping equipment, HVAC components, chemical storage and feeding equipment, ventilation exhaust system, piping, valves and gates, lifting equipment and electrical switchgear, motor control and process control equipment and systems as specified to provide nominal 28-mgd capacity.
  • Supply and installation of an enclosed, diesel-driven electric power generator and related foundation.
  • Extension of City water and power services to the new station. Finish grading and surfacing of the pump station site including construction of storm water infiltration swales and related piping.
  • Open-cut construction of two 14-inch and one 30-inch HDPE force mains, each approximately 900 linear feet, from the new pump station to connect to force mains at Oak Street completed under the Phase 1 contract as specified.
  • Open-cut construction of approximately 2600 linear feet of new 18- to 30-inch gravity sewer from CSO 008 to the new pump station (Front Street Diversion Sewer).
  • Open-cut construction of approximately 1000 linear feet of new 18-inch storm drain to collect and convey sources disconnected from existing sanitary sewers. Supply and installation of a storm water treatment system at point of discharge of collected
    flows.
  • Restoration and replacement of sidewalk, curb and road surfaces as required.
  • Vehicle and pedestrian traffic control as required for work within the downtown corridor.
