Initial Findings of the Section 809 Panel: Setting the Path for Streamlining and Improving Defense Acquisition
Date: Wednesday, May 17, 2017 – 10:00am
Congress required DoD to form a panel of experts inside and outside government to make recommendations on defense acquisition reform. The panel’s interim report is posted at https://section809panel.org/ and attached.
At 1:15:22 in the video (URL below), Representative Carol Shea-Porter of New Hampshire asked the Section 809 Panel about PTACs’ effort to reach businesses, and whether or not (paraphrased) “we” are doing enough to make businesses aware of PTACs. Mr. Charlie Williams (former Director of DCMA) indicates the panel will reach out to learn more about PTACs[KP NPTAC] .
The panel talked to many businesses large and small so it seems likely they will reach out to some of you too. Here is the URL so you may watch the video of the hearing.
I think this attention is great for our program and that we’re in the position to once again let Congress know how PTACs help businesses navigate the complicated defense acquisition process. PTAC clients may reach out here: panel’s web page for submitting comments is https://section809panel.org/general-comments/ or recommendations is https://section809panel.org/recommendations/ from clients.
Please contact your Senators immediately to share with them how your Native PTAC has assisted your business and how your PTAC is a great resource in moving a small Native business through and understanding the federal market place. Thank you in advance.
