The Pacific Northwest Fire and Aviation Contracting Team along with representatives from the Washington State Department of Natural Resources (DNR) will be hosting two open house style meetings to discuss fire contracting for the 2016 fire season. Representatives will provide information for current and prospective contractors interested in learning how to enroll for the 2016 fire season.
There are a number of types of equipment and services that are contracted during the fire season to help aid fire and other incident support. A few examples are:
• Water Tenders and Engines
• Heavy Equipment
• Refrigerated Trailers
• Weed Washing Units
• Chippers
• Fallers
• Mechanics with Service Trucks
• Mobile Laundry Units
• Office and Clerical Support
• Vehicles with Drivers
• Potable/Grey Water Trucks
This is a great opportunity to meet with contracting representatives to learn the process and requirements for becoming a wildland fire contractor or vendor.
Additional information or updates will be posted to the Region 6 Fire and Aviation Contracting Team’s website at: www.fs.usda.gov/goto/r6/workingtogether/contracting/fact or you can email the U.S. Forest Service Contract Operations at fact@fs.fed.us .
