The public is invited to review the design concepts at an Open House on Thursday, Jan. 28, 6-7:30 p.m., at Pine Lake Middle School, 3200 228th Ave. S.E., in Sammamish. City staff and consultants will be present to answer questions and record public input.
With several projects already under construction inside the city’s Town Center Plan boundaries, the city is planning to improve a section of Southeast Fourth Street. The 3,300-foot roadway section in question, between 218th Avenue and 228th Avenue, is a key corridor inside the Town Center.
Currently a two-way road without sidewalks, S.E. Fourth Street will be expanded to include two travel lanes, a center turn lane or median, bike lanes, planter strips and sidewalks. The new design will be pedestrian friendly and align with other Town Center goals. The city will also coordinate with the Sammamish Plateau Water and Sewer District to install upgraded utilities as part of the improvement project.
